I went over to the beach tonight to find that FULL moon, which kept me awake last night.
On that note:
I ALWAYS blow my horn. Before, during and after crossing the dunes. I pretty much ONLY use the "little greyfield beach road" (see map on left) and have encountered many a picnicker sittin in the middle of it. Usually, right at the base of the first one and the last one. Well, those are the best views (don't ya know!) and according to them, they are "trails".
I've written letters and had telephone conversations about putting up signs/doing something... They (the CINS) don't see the problem. They (CINS) can't put up signs, that would disturb the visitors experience....
Well, I can tell ya first hand what is gonna disturb somebody's experience! It's called a 4 WD pickup!
I've washed my hands of the matter. I just do what I can on my end and let them deal with the rest...
Well, how'd you feel if you came home and kept calling and saying there's gonna be an accident at this intersection and nobody does anything? Then, there's an accident and they put up a red light?!?!) sigh...
I've also written letters about putting up ladders at various docks so that when someone falls in, they can get out. I have a very long list of things that I've pointed out. I keep getting letters from people in Atlanta sitting in a high rise, who have never been here and the "superintendent Du jour". We have more of a turnover in Park Superintendents, than we have hurricanes...

Tineke, these are for YOU!
Same birds, but my camera is still adjusting to the 70's in the house and the 100 degrees+ outside...
These folks are out with their seine nets and poles, enjoying the evening...long into the night.
Well, There was a breeze blowing and I've gotten a lot farther than this, but I'm tired and will sign off for tonight.
Enjoy the FULL MOON!~wherever you are...

I think I should mount a camera to the front of my vehicle and take you for a ride over the dunes. Kind of interesting that nobody has ever done this. I wonder why... Might put a new perspective on things.

I do NOT understand how they can tell ME, who lives here FULl TIME 24/7/365 and goes over these ROADS day in, day out... and they are not worried. Guess it's easy to not worry when you live in A caccoooooooon....
Politicans worry about votes not reality. Keep writing tho.
Lovely pictures of the beach . Great idea for a virtual visit.
I love the pictures of the full moon over the sea. I love !! your quilt .
Greetings Anita.
We were at the NC OBX on New Year's Eve and I tried to take photos of the full moon that night. Not too successful ... but we sure had a great time anyway. There is just something about a full moon over the water.
So easy to judge situations from behind a desk pfff, no the problem! Great pictures of the moon! Your quilt is growing great!! Happy sewing, hugs, Daniëlle

Sandra! I enjoyed that post thoroughly! Especially the part about the 4WD truck! Sounds just like something my husband would say.
Your quilt is gorgeous. In fact, said hubby was just looking at the photos and he has named your quilt 'Indian Blessing Basket Quilt'!! He does things like this. Our daughter sells Lia Sophia jewelry and he is always naming the new pieces as they come out. One of my necklaces he has named 'chunky tooth' necklace!! HAHAHAHAHA I am chalking it up to old age or something....hehehehe
Anyway, whatever name you might have for that quilt, it's beautiful! I love it....so did the hubby... :D

Hey Sandy, I was reading your blog to Dallas and he called the folks in the middle of the road, speed bumps! Thought you would get a kick out of it...that is their mentality if they are in the middle of the road just sitting there. Your pics are beautiful, glad you were able to put your name across them. Love the new pic of Ethan! Not long now till he arrives! Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!
Sandra - you made me sooooo happy - Thanks!

Great pictures. Love reading your blog. Good luck working with the Govt. to solve that problem. My husband does contract work with the govt. and there are some lazy souls that are employed by our fine country.
I found your blog a couple of weeks ago and have enjoyed your pictures of the island. Maybe one day I will get to visit and see the beautiful island in person.

You honk away, girl! Signs or no signs! You know that the visitors are naive and preoccupied. Way better safe than sorry! Of course you have added to my longing to visit your little island with those gorgeous photos. And I just love your quilt!
