UPDATE 3:55 Wed: well, we had a wonderful visit! The incoming 4 hr flight ended up taking 12 hours!!! Today seems to be going somewhat smoother on their return flight, and they should be landing in the next hour. I'm still in town, will be home tomorrow and post some photos very soon. Thank you all for the many notes left and well wishes!!! :) The fire is still burning. We saw trucks/firemen going/coming as we went back and forth, I'll update you as I find out info. Sounds like it's not a threat to any structures and have been told that they are dumping water on it... As long as the historical structures and our homes are not in danger and they have it under control, then I'm not worried.
I've also expressed concern to the current administration that we need the fire break cleared around our home. The park insists that we do not clear it on our own, since it needs to be hand cleared w/the Gopher Tortoise living there. I've waited and waited and now with this first fire of the season, it's a reminder to me of just how overgrown it is, coming right up to our home...With all of the nonsense going on on Cumberland, it's difficult to focus on the small things that are really the big things.

UPDATE 10:15a.m. Sunday: Heidi was to leave at 8:00 and she's still on the ground at 10:15. Engine trouble. So, will be a long day for her and Ethan. She has brought 4 bottles. For all of you traveling w/babies, I guess they swab your mouth & hands and somehow test the milk in the bottles. I will get the specifics when she gets here and let you know. I know that we had no idea and were told different things by different representatives, so I should pass the information along. I'll update as I know something. Well, if there was engine trouble, I'd rather her be safe on the ground...
Hurrying out the door~! Gotta catch the ferry!!!! Going over to town to spend the night in order to meet my daughter at the airport tomorrow afternoon. I can't do this any other way with living here and boat schedules. So, very quickly, the quilt after I sergred the edges and washed it. Love the puckered look! Will bind while they are here.
The crocheted blanket is a gift from my aunt to Ethan. It arrived in the mail last evening!
We had rain, but no rain where the fire is. Just talked to the park and saw firetrucks going up the main road. They are going to try to keep it from jumping the trail north of Willow Pond. It appears to be heading north. I'll post if I hear of any new news.
Get ready for lots of granny pics!~~~~ I'll miss ya'll!

Hope she can get there without to much more trouble!
I finally found the bar of soap and the Arm and Hammer Laundry stuff. I had to order them both could not get them anywhere here. But good news Ace Hardware will ship to a store close to you no shipping! Thats a handy service they do it on anything they sell! The other ingredient I could get at my Walmart! I will have enough product to make laundry detergent for a while now!
Hope your daughter finally got there safely. And I hope the fire is brought under control quickly!
Oh, what a beautiful hexagonquilt. And the other one with hearts is wonderful too. I hope everyone got there safely. Take care.

Im hope that your vesit went good with your daughter and grandson thanks for the update hugs
Oh Sandra...fires, they do such dreadful damage! We are so thankful that in 10 years living at the cottage, in the wilderness, we've never had even a small forest fire!
I'm sure by now everything is good and you will be home soon. Imagine...not being able to feed babies on planes...what are these people thinking?
